More often than not, sexual assault victims are not treated as victims. We are treated the opposite — like we did something wrong. We are cross-examined even though we are not on trial. We are doubted first — not believed. The legislation passed by the VAWA is helping to bridge the gap between victims and law enforcement; making it easier for them to understand what victims go through and help them accordingly, obtain the resources they need to help, and guarantee the protections that victims deserve and desperately need. Studies indicated a disproportionately higher recorded rate of Black trans women being murdered in the United States. There are several factors that affect the livelihoods of Black trans women: denial of healthcare, rejection from loved ones, homelessness, survival sex work, the list goes on. Though seemingly unrelated, the perpetuation of these denials of personhood only further to put trans women of color in danger.
Justice for Tony McDade petiton
Tony was a 38 year old Black transgender man who was gunned down by law enforcement. The details of his murder have been kept in the dark, with the name of the officer involved not yet released to the public. Tallahassee police say McDade was a suspect in a fatal stabbing that occurred shortly before his death. Police say he was armed with a handgun and he “made a move consistent with using the firearm against the officer.”, but eyewittnesses have told the press that the police didn't try to deescalate the situation. Sign to bring justice and clarity towards Tony Mcdade's death.
Justice for Malcolm Harsch petiton
Malcolm Harsch was a 38 year old black man found hanging from a tree in Victorville, California near Victorville City Library on May 31, 2020 around 7 AM. His death is getting little to no news coverage by local news, and the article on his death was published 2 weeks later on June 13th, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said foul play is not suspected in his death, but during such a heightened time with the Black Lives Matter movement, there is reason to believe that Malcolm’s death was a lynching. justice for jorge gonzalez petiton
At the hands of 3 violent deputies, Jorge Gonzalez was left in critical conditions after they stormed into HIS home and woke HIM up. He was tased multiple times after already being placed in handcuffs. A deputy tripped him while in cuffs, resulting in him losing consciousness. In the mugshot photos, he was in so much pain, in such a critical condition that his head had to be held up. Instead of receiving medical treatment, he was placed in a cell in Hidalgo County. Jorge Gonzalez is another of countless police brutality victims, he was left in an incredibly fragile state. One that’s ultimately resulted in his death. Sign to demand justice for Jorge.

Pervis Payne is an innocent man who is set to be executed on Dec 3rd, 2020. He stumbled across a crime scene and, as he was trying to aid the victim, he was mistaken for the attacker. The prosecution used racial stereotypes and hid important info during his trial. He has been on death row for about 3 decades and has steadily maintained his innocence. Don’t let this innocent man die!
